Entitlement vs. Defense

I found this article very interesting and a bit unsettling. I am not a Hawk but I do believe that our past defensive strength has kept many enemies from attempting larger strikes against us especially on our own soil.
I do know we have a need to invest more in our internal infrastructure and make some changes in how we approach health care and the costs associated with it but we should be careful that we don't end up in a 180 position that we may not recover from.

Samson and Samuel

Samson and Samuel; I find an interesting contrast in these two men found in scripture. Though they both rise from similar backgrounds to become Judges in Israel their lives and service to God diverged greatly from those simple beginnings.
Technically Samuel was referred to as a Prophet and is not found in the book of Judges. He introduced the Era of Kings and it does say in 1st Samuel 7:15 "And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life".

Born to Barren women, Samson: Judges 13:2 and Samuel: 1st Samuel 1:11.
I don't have any hard comparisons of their lives just the observation that they start our pretty much the same yet they have very different lives mostly due to the priority they place on Gods call on their lives.

Just something I thought I'd put out here for folks to consider. I am sure there are some sermons/meditations in here somewhere.

Corn Salad

I had a potluck lunch at work today and many people asked for the recipe to the Corn Salad that my wife made.
Well here it is.

Corn Salad

1 can Del Monte "Fiesta Corn"
2 cans kernel "Yellow and White" Corn
1 cup "Miracle Whip" (or Mayo for less tangy flavor)
1 small to medium Bell Pepper
1 small to medium Onion
1 large bag (13 oz?) "Chili and Cheese Fritos"

Thoroughly drain all the corn and mix together
Finely chop the bell pepper and onion and add to corn mixture.
Let sit for a few minutes and make sure complete mixture is well drained of excess moisture
Mix in "Miracle Whip" cover and chill mixture before serving.
Just prior to serving crush bag of "Chili Cheese Fritos" and add to mixture

ENJOY!
